A portable application can be run from a removable drive (USB flash drive, iPod, portable hard drive, etc) on any Windows computer without installation.
You will carry the program with settings on removable drive and don't modify settings on host computer.
Tested on Windows XP Pro SP3 and Windows 7 Integrale SP1.
On Vista and 7 turn off User Account Control (UAC) or run launcher as admin.

This was with IsoCmd.exe -i and -r
Finally not so bad. I removed only to avoid short display of DOS windows.

What is your version of Windows?

Hello,
I launch UltraIso using an old launcher from a previous portableappz version that allow also non admin user to use the program.
I don't use virtual drive or other things that need admin privileges; I use this program only to modify iso images.
Is it "safe" to do this or not ?
Do you think it's a good idea to include (in your appz) in addition also a launcher that doesn't require admin privileges ?
Thank for your work and for the opportunity to post comments :)

UltraISO save settings in registry and need admin rights to backup-restore.
All my launchers or UltraTSO needs admin rights but you can bypass with:
CheckRegWrite=false
in UltraISOPortable.ini

Thank you. Your effort is very much appreciated. Not to mention support which most probably surpasses the companies'.

I can confirm this is working as it should, although the PowerISO still runs in the background after supposedly having closed (exited) the application for me as well unfortunately. It's the PowerISO process, not associated with any service as far as I can tell, and there are no PowerISO related services running either. Maybe it's a file lock or something, so I'll just try disabling some explorer-integration features in settings, but this shouldn't be happening.

Forgot to mention I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit and I have UAC off (probably no need to publish this comment).

Oh I'm sorry. This is UltraISO, not PowerISO, I confused them because I've had PowerISO for longer, and this one I had just downloaded, so I figured the change must be the cause and mixed them up.

Yes, this UltraISO Portable works perfectly, and exits completely. Thank you again.
