  1. Why in new 4.35 file assotiations not work(tried portableapps.com and http://portableappz.blogspot versions)? When i click on file just IrfanView opens with "No file loaded"

  2. Portable apps are not associated to files (otherwise will not be portable).

Try drag'n drop in IrfanView window or File/Open.

  3. First, thx for answer.

    Here the situation.

Got flash-drive, on it TotalCommanderPortable(TC) and IrfanViewPortable.
Now i run TC and i use TC Internal Associations(and now i can simple click-to-open on associated file) or drag'n drop ещ IrfanView lnk on TC button bar, i may open files in IrfanViewPortable from TC.
I use not full paths, example - \IrfanViewPortable\IrfanViewPortable.exe
This worked with many Portable apps (Foobar, Foxit, etc), but not work with new version IrfanView.

    Maybe i doing it wrong.

  4. I understand.

    Use updated launcher.

They may have changed the order of reading parameters:

    ${GetParameters} $0
    ExecWait `"$EXEDIR\${APPDIR}\${APPEXE}" /ini="$EXEDIR\Data\${APP}" $0`
Don't open file drag'n droped on launcher.

    ExecWait `"$EXEDIR\${APPDIR}\${APPEXE}" $0 /ini="$EXEDIR\Data\${APP}"`
    Open file...

  6. I am on win8 - am going back to win7.
I extracted files, 4.36 will not run.
    " i_view32.exe was not found in \IrfanView Portable 4.36 - portableappz\App\lrfanView "
    I see that i_view32.exe is actually in \IrfanView Portable 4.36 - portableappz\$ OUTDlR\lrfanView\

Can I move the whole dir to where the launcher wants it to be ?

Great thanks for all your work. I am having huge problems running your apps in win8.
(even after changing some items in Group Policy Editor)

  7. "I extracted files": just run installer and never extract it as an archive.

  8. Thanks for the reply.
I already tried running the installer. On win8, *none* of ~ 6 others apps will install either.
After specifying the path I click on install and nothing happens at all.

  9. I am on Windows 8 too, always on Desktop.
Try to run installer as Admin with a PortableApps folder at the root of your drive.

  10. Hallelujah, Bernat ! The path to the root solved the problem.
I installed 2 more of yours that would not install before.
I do not think I ever had any problem installing *many* of your apps on XP.
I have never used the root path before.
I hugely appreciate your work and answering our questions.
