Hey, what happend to Registry Workshop, http://www.torchsoft.com ?

The best reg editor! I had to go to Archive Wayback Machine to get the latest version 4.6.3.

Go in here to get to the latest version. Click into the blue circle, and get into a screen shot of the web page. There you also can download latest version:

Hello Bernat,

Thanks as always for everything and keep up the great job.

I have registry problems where a program writes a new key/value on every execute.
First example is: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\ZD Soft\Screen Recorder\F3632D68BE45B3BE71FA831326161839] where to register I use
"Name"="ZD Soft"
"Email"="support@zdsoft.com"
"Key"="APAET-1CCF9-63A72-5E3CB-23EF0"
"Setup"=dword:5a78a2ad
On next launch the registry value/number changes to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\ZD Soft\Screen Recorder\7CCC341F9C9547828A0C2D346BDB4BD8]
so it stays unregistered.

Secound example is: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{FAF58492-E3A1-44FB-91E8-804B75FB3E70}] and on next launch is
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{2DF394BA-1955-4a52-900E-303836135F67}] and under permissions is account unkown so even if I use
AccessControl::GrantOnRegKey I cannot get rid of it even with DeleteRegKey/DeleteRegValue.

Thanks in advance.

When registering, for me, Screen Recorder write 3 hex values ("Blob") in
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\AuthRoot\Certificates\3E2BF7F2031B96F38CE6C4D8A85D3E2D58476A0F]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\AuthRoot\Certificates\75E0ABB6138512271C04F85FDDDE38E4B7242EFE]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\AuthRoot\Certificates\B1BC968BD4F49D622AA89A81F2150152A41D829C]
Perhaps registration is stored here but keys can change with computer.

Hi Bernat,
I hope you're fine during this challenging times.

Another problems with registry again and this time is the profilelist, I tried all that I know off but with no avail like DeleteRegKey, DeleteRegValue and ${registry::Unload}.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\S-1-5-18]
"Flags"=dword:0000000c
"ProfileImagePath"=hex(2):25,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,72,00,6f,\
00,6f,00,74,00,25,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,\
5c,00,63,00,6f,00,6e,00,66,00,69,00,67,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,\
00,6d,00,70,00,72,00,6f,00,66,00,69,00,6c,00,65,00,00,00
"RefCount"=dword:00000001
"Sid"=hex:01,01,00,00,00,00,00,05,12,00,00,00
"State"=dword:00000000

How can I get rid of it or is there any registry manipulation for it?

Thanks in advance.

George

I have the same key in my registry.
This is a system key and is not to be deleted.
(ProfileImagePath = %systemroot%\system32\config\systemprofile)

George said...

Thanks as usual for your fast response.
The profilelist was created by a program called netlimiter which can be manually deleted but not through Nsis. This is the registry key which was created for the profile which I want to delete from the registry.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Locktime Software\NetLimiter\4\Rights]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Locktime Software\NetLimiter\4\Rights\S-1-5-18]
"Value"="Monitor ControlBUILTIN\\UsersS-1-5-32-545Monitor ControlBUILTIN\\AdministratorsS-1-5-32-544"
"Version"=dword:00000002

I thought if I can take ownership of the profile it can be removed. Even after exiting the program I cannot remove with [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Locktime Software\NetLimiter\4\Rights].

Thanks again for everything.
