A portable application can be run from a removable drive (USB flash drive, iPod, portable hard drive, etc) on any Windows computer without installation.
You will carry the program with settings on removable drive and don't modify settings on host computer.
On Vista and above turn off User Account Control (UAC) or run launcher as admin.

Download Portable FlashGet 2.0 (2.7 MB)
Extract and run FlashGetPortable.
Settings of installed FlashGet should be preserved.

It's why I don't use 1.9.6 but 1.73.
I have also 2.0 Portable but there is a suspect disk activity before launching and after closing (also publicities).

I have some problems with version 1.9.6 with opening the file with double click? I associate with the program the exact file but when I click on it to be opened it won't show me the content. Some ideas?
There is no interest to use several .jcd files.
The more portable way is to put your .jcd file (ex: MyFlashGet.jcd) in Data\FlashGet and edit FlashGetPortable.ini with JCD=MyFlashGet
You can also try: File/Open database...

I also see the "suspicious disk activities" with wares from FC Portables.
I don't really know why.
But the Advanced System Care from them works quite well. Just like a real installed one.
Doesn't it come from the "virtual machine" they create within the running program process?
You have FlashGet 1.7.3 in this topic (above 1.9.6 link).
You ca try Portable FlashGet 2.0 but I don't like (few seconds before launching and disk activity few seconds after leaving)
I use 1.7.3 every day.
Be carefull, I think you can't use 1.9.6 .jcd in 1.7.3.

Hey, we already got portable Flashget 2.0 here.
How good does it work? Does it still with that black drop zone box like the 1.9.6 version?
I am not sure if I am gonna mirror Zone-DL stuff because they are direct links and are BETTER than ZIDDU mirrors. (You can use DownThemAll on Zone-DL and not Ziddu.) I will be downloading and storing the files though.. That way if a link gets taken down, I can post a mirror.

FlashGet Portable only monitor clipboard.
Right-clic on link in browser, select copy URL and FlashGet will pop-up.
Work also if you select a list of links and copy.

I found a little problem with the 1.73 launcher.
When I disable the splash screen in the .ini, the program takes 3 times longer to start.
The problem seems to appear also in the 1.96 launcher.
Can you post a launcher with the splash completely disabled, or fix the problem? I will be very pleased if you do that.

I tried those launchers but I found several problems with them, like the need to stop the Opera browser before launching and things like that.
That´s why is so important to me that your launcher works well; is the only .paf Flashget that really works.
Needless to say that all those single exe portabilized Flashgets with no settings managament that are fooling around the internet are bullshit for me.

No problem for me. I use 1.73 every day and take the same time to start with or without splash.
When started with the splash enabled, the windows cursor remains unbusy from the start.
When started with no splash, the cursor remains busy for 5-6 seconds (XP SP2 Pro, verified in 2 machines). The program is not accesible during that time, as expected.
This issue also occur for me with other paf launchers from your site like the Videoget one, buth not with others like the DVDFab´s.

when I click on OK button program starts but
all pinned items in my start menu disappeared !!!! even the .lnk shortcuts are available in AppData folder.

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64
I use daily 1.7.3 on Windows 10 x64 but 1.9.6 and 2.0 also tested working without problem.
I restore my windows image and test again, the same problem occurred.
My user account is only member of Administrators.
Is it possible for you test it on a Windows 7 ?
I have this problem only with FlashGet Portable 2.0
Other versions (1.7 and 1.9) works well.
but FlashGet 2 have a beautiful skin.

is there any way to change default settings ?
I change the download location, threads from main site (to 10) and start type to manual via tools menu -> default download properties.
but every time I run FlashGet setting reset to program defaults.
Settings are stored in Data folder and should be kept.
